What is Hearts a Splendor?

Hearts a Splendor is our annual fundraiser involving our whole school family. The elegant and festive evening includes delicious food, wonderful fellowship with friends, and memorable entertainment by a selection of our students. Silent auction, student art, and live auctions add an exciting element to our effort of pouring into our capital campaign, “A Home of Our Own”.  The evening is held at The Family Church, 2022 SW 122nd St, Gainesville, FL 32607, February 13th, 6 PM. It is a night you’ll remember for years to come.

What school needs does this event support?

Like many private schools, the margin between tuition income and expenditures is thin at Cornerstone. Because we are an independent, non-denominational school, we receive no direct support from churches or any other organizations in the form of funds or facilities. Our founders chose a challenging path, but did so deliberately: to be classical and nondenominational, welcoming families and students of many different Christian walks. Currently, our student body represents over 50 churches in the Alachua County area.

Who will attend Hearts a Splendor Showcase?

Usually there are 250-300 guests, comprised of Cornerstone parents, alumni, church leaders, and local business owners. All are welcome, but must have a ticket to attend.

Childcare?

Childcare will not be available for this event.  Seats in the auditorium are limited, therefore we would like to reserve seating for adults. Any student 6th grade and up who would like to attend will need a ticket to attend.

What should I wear?

Hearts a Splendor is designed to be an enjoyable evening out, and we do promise you a memorable time. Our high school student servers will be wearing black and white to serve you. Adults are asked to wear “After 5” or “Festive Attire” but please don’t stress over dress. Your presence is what’s most important!

How long will the event last?

Doors will open at 5:30 PM when the silent auction begins. Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM; entertainment and student performances will begin at 7:00 PM. Please arrive to be seated no later than 6:00 PM. Registration will be closing at that time so that all volunteers can be a part of the event. The event is planned to be wrapped up around 9:00 pm.

How can I help other than planning to attend?

If you would like to volunteer, contact Erin Cook [email protected].

How does table sponsorship work?

  • Number of tables:  32

  • Your table seats 8 people. Invite family, friends, prospective families, church members to join you.

  • Select level of table sponsorship (sharing is welcome) on your RSVP card.

  • Write special instructions on back or email Liana Kinsman, [email protected].

  • Name your table.  It can be simply your family’s name, your company’s name, or something different like, “Classical is Cool”.

  • Kristy Currier, our table captain, will confirm RSVPs when your RSVP card is received.

  • A confirmation email will be sent to you.

  • Reply to Kristy Currier with your guests’ contact information.

  • Your email confirmation/table assignment will serve as your ticket.

  • Checks must be received with your RSVP.

What if I want to come, but do not want to have dinner or can’t afford a ticket?

The purpose of the night is to raise money, and the primary way we do this is through seat, table purchases, and participation in the auction. However, hardships do come. If you are walking through a hardship, and would like to attend, please contact Erin Cook [email protected].

How will donors be recognized?

Anyone can give! Gift receipt letters will be provided at your request. If you give, sponsor a table, or donate, we would like to recognize you in our program, on the school’s in-house communication, and our Facebook Page. Putting your name next to Cornerstone is important. We want you to be proud of your support of Cornerstone Academy. This will let others know of your support as well. We appreciate you!

I want to come to the event but cannot sponsor a table?

That’s okay. We want all families, faculty, and staff there. The minimum donation for individual seats is $40 per person. Since we aren’t issuing paper tickets, your table assignment will be confirmed via email when we receive your RSVP card. If you are unable to afford $40 please contact [email protected]. Some donations have been given to cover limited seating. Please note, this can only be offered on a “first come, first serve” basis.

Can I sponsor a table if I’m not able to attend?

Certainly!  You can invite your pastor or guests to sit at your table or allow us to open it up for other guests. Name your table using your family name or business name, or any way you’d like.
